How GrocerLink Used Packro to 3× Faster order processing
GrocerLink operates 18 grocery and FMCG fulfilment locations across Riyadh, Jeddah, and Dammam. They serve both retail consumers via their app and B2B clients in the hospitality sector.

The Challenge
Operating 18 fulfilment locations across three cities, GrocerLink's operations team was manually assigning orders to locations via a central dispatcher. The process was slow, error-prone, and completely unable to account for real-time stock levels.
Their average order-to-ship time of 6.2 hours meant competitors offering 90-minute grocery delivery were consistently winning on speed. On-time delivery rates had fallen to 61%, causing churn in their subscriber base.
Picking lists were printed and handed to warehouse staff manually, with no digital pick-path optimisation. A single order could require a picker to traverse the entire warehouse multiple times.
The Solution
Packro's order routing engine evaluates five variables for every incoming order: buyer location, real-time stock at each location, carrier cut-off times, vehicle load capacity, and SLA priority. Orders are assigned to the optimal fulfilment centre in milliseconds.
Digital picking lists were introduced with optimised walk-path sequencing. Pickers follow a route that minimises backtracking — the system clusters picks by aisle and bin sequence rather than order sequence.
For high-velocity FMCG items, Packro introduced wave picking — batching similar items across multiple orders so a single picker trip fulfils ten orders simultaneously, dramatically increasing throughput per picker-hour.
Real-time carrier integrations with local last-mile couriers allowed automatic label generation and handover notification, eliminating 40 minutes of daily manual dispatch work per location.
"Packro didn't just speed us up — it changed how we think about fulfilment. Same-day is now our standard, not a stretch goal."
